چکیده

We study the spectral statistics of interacting electrons in clean chaotic quantum dots by numerical diagonalization. We show that interacting particles in chaotic dots exhibit the same short-range level correlations, predicted by random matrix theory, as interacting electrons in disordered systems, while they differ from each other with respect to long-range correlations. We further find that, for the interacting system considered, indirect couplings between single Slater determinant states are important for a correct description of short-range level correlations.

Electronic Properties of a Concentric Triple Quantum Nanoring

In this paper, we study the electronic properties of a concentric triple quantum ring using exact diagonalization technique. The energy spectra and magnetization for a single electron and two electrons, in the presence of an applied magnetic field, are calculated and discussed. It is shown that, for two-interacting electrons, the period of Aharonov-Bohm oscillations decreases to the half of tha...

On the spectroscopic structure of two interacting electrons in a quantum dot

The shifted 1/N expansion technique used by El-Said (Phys. Rev. B 61, 13026 (2000)), to study the relative Hamiltonian of two interacting electrons confined in a quantum dot, is investigated. El-Said’s results from SLNT are revised and results from an alternative method are also reported. The distinctive role of the central spike term, (m − 1/4)/q, in determining spectral properties of the abov...

On the correlation energies for two interacting electrons in a parabolic quantum dot

The correlation energies for two interacting electrons in a parabolic quantum dot are studied via a pseudo-perturbation recipe. It is shown that the central spike term, (m2 −1/4)/r2, plays a distinctive role in determining the spectral properties of the above problem. The study is carried out for a wide range of the Coulomb coupling strength λ relative to the confinement.

Density-functional theory simulation of large quantum dots

Kohn-Sham spin-density functional theory provides an efficient and accurate model to study electronelectron interaction effects in quantum dots, but its application to large systems is a challenge. Here an efficient method for the simulation of quantum dots using density-function theory is developed; it includes the particlein-the-box representation of the Kohn-Sham orbitals, an efficient conju...

Effect of asymmetric quantum dot rings in electron transport through a quantum wire

The electronic conductance at zero temperature through a quantum wire with side-connected asymmetric quantum ring (as a scatter system) is theoretically studied using the non-interacting Hamiltonian Anderson tunneling method. In this paper we concentrate on the configuration of the quantum dot rings. We show that the asymmetric structure of QD-scatter system strongly influences the amplitude an...
